Selena Gomez was picking out this dress, trying on these shoes for the 2024 Emmys.
The singer arrived at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater on Sept. 15 in a black halter gown with a sparkly neckline by Ralph Lauren as well as Tiffany & Co. jewelry (when you're ready, come and get a look at all the red carpet looks here).
And while she and boyfriend Benny Blanco—who sported a black suit jacket with floral beading detail along with a matching shirt and pants—didn't pose for photos together on the red carpet, he was still there to cheer her on.
It's no mystery why it’s a big night for Selena. The 32-year-old received her first acting Emmy nomination for her performance in Only Murders in the Building. As an executive producer of the Hulu hit, Selena had also received her third consecutive nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series—making history as the most-nominated Latina producer in the category.
In fact, the series is one of the most-nominated shows of the night with 21 nods. Other cast members also in the running for an award include Steve Martin and Martin Short in the lead actor category as well as Meryl Streep and Paul Rudd in the supporting role groups. Matthew Broderick and Da'Vine Joy Randolph were also nominated in the guest star categories at the Creative Arts Emmys last week.
Still, tonight's nominees will face some tough competition as there are stars from a lot of beloved shows in this building. Shogun leads the nominees with 25 nods followed by The Bear with 23 as well as True Detective: Night Country and The Crown with 19 and 18, respectively.
Fans could go round and round listing ways it’s been an incredible year for Selena. In addition to earning an Emmy nomination, she received a Cannes Film Festival Award for her role in Emilia Pérez, released her single “Love On,” and, per Bloomberg, became a billionaire through her success with Rare Beauty.
And as Selena’s professional life has made headlines so has her personal world—with her and Benny showing how they love each other like a love song, baby.
“I’ve never been loved this way,” the actress recently told Vanity Fair about the music producer, noting they took their relationship from platonic to romantic in July 2023. “He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”
And while Benny, 36, and Selena have proven they're not sick of this same old love more than a year into their romance—recently sparking engagement rumors—she’s suggested the two aren’t putting any pressure on each other to take this next step.
“We always make sure we’re protecting what we have, but there’s no rules,” she continued. “I want him to always be himself. I always want to be myself.”
