Actor George Clooney Tuesday commended President Joe Biden's decision to exit the 2024 race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris' bid.
"President Biden has shown what true leadership is," Clooney said in a statement to CNN. "He’s saving democracy once again. We’re all so excited to do whatever we can to support Vice President Harris in her historic quest."

Clooney earlier this month joined a swell of Democrats and allies calling for the president to drop his bid for reelection.
"I love Joe Biden," the actor wrote in a New York Times op-ed. "I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. In the last four years, he’s won many of the battles he’s faced."
"But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time," Clooney wrote.
A self-described lifelong Democrat, Clooney was among a group of A-list celebrities that co-hosted a Biden campaign fundraiser last month.
