For the first time in his NFL career, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf is missing a game due to injury.
Metcalf has been battling through a rib injury since Week 2, but he added a hip issue to his list of ailments in last week's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. After going through pregame workouts, Metcalf and the team's athletic training staff decided he wouldn't be able to play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
Metcalf had played 71 consecutive games since he entered the league as a second-round draft pick by the Seahawks in 2019. He has caught 22 passes for a team-leading 337 yards and two touchdowns in five games this season.
Rookie wideouts Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Jake Bobo figure to have larger roles in the Seahawks offense in Metcalf's absence.
